Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data TraderBots (“we”) collects when you use https://traderbots.site, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller. For privacy questions contact privacy@traderbots.site.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data — email address, display name, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Exchange credentials — API keys and wallet addresses you choose to add. These are encrypted at rest and are never returned by our API once saved.
  • Trading data — the bots you configure, orders and trades executed (including paper trades), backtest runs, and the decision audit trail explaining why a bot acted.
  • Notification settings — Telegram chat ID and Discord webhook URL, if you provide them.
  • Billing data — when paid plans are enabled, our payment processor handles your card details. We never see or store full card numbers; we retain the subscription status and invoice records.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type and request logs, generated automatically when you use the Service and used for security, abuse prevention and debugging.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not collect special categories of personal data.

2. Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To provide the Service (run your bots, execute and record trades, show analytics) — performance of our contract with you.
  • To keep the Service secure (authentication, rate limiting, fraud and abuse prevention) — our legitimate interests.
  • To take payment for paid plans — performance of our contract.
  • To send service messages (trade fills, risk alerts, digests you enable) — performance of our contract; marketing email only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To meet legal obligations such as accounting and tax record-keeping — legal obligation.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run the Service:

  • Hosting and infrastructure — our application and database hosting providers.
  • Exchanges and market venues — when you enable live trading, order instructions are sent to the venue you selected, using your credentials.
  • Market and news data providers — to produce scores and signals. These receive asset symbols, not your identity.
  • AI model providers — to generate narrative explanations and briefings. We send trading context, not your credentials.
  • Payment processor — to take and manage subscription payments.
  • Messaging providers — Telegram or Discord, only if you configure those alerts.

We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the security of the Service.

4. International transfers

Some providers operate outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on an adequacy decision or on Standard Contractual Clauses together with appropriate safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account and trading data — while your account is active.
  • After deletion — we delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data, except records we must retain (for example invoices for statutory accounting periods) and backups, which expire on their normal rotation cycle.
  • Security logs — retained for a limited period for abuse prevention and diagnostics.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR and equivalent laws you can:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a portable copy.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data erased — you can delete your account yourself from Settings, which removes your account and associated trading data.
  • Restrict or object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
  • Complain to your local supervisory authority.

7. Security

We hash passwords, encrypt exchange credentials at rest, serve all traffic over TLS, apply rate limiting, and restrict administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage a unique password, exchange API keys limited to the minimum permissions, and never enabling withdrawal permissions on keys you share with any platform.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage strictly to operate the Service — keeping you signed in, remembering your interface preferences (such as theme and Simple/Advanced mode) and, if you try it, flagging demo mode. These are essential to functionality. If we later add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-product.
